With a husband who has been on a gluten-absolutely free diet regime for twenty years, I've attempted just about every alternative I could locate to substitute for "all purpose flour" in classic recipes, like mixing my own from a vast array of other flours. Some had been OK, some failed in texture, some failed in taste, some were downright inedible. With Beth's Gluten-No cost All-Objective Flour, I've finally found a item that operates in most of the cookies, tea breads, muffins, and so on that we all delight in, and is also economical for everyday use. It can be substituted in an equal quantity just about anywhere a recipe calls for "all objective flour" - naturally you will have to have to experiment if you use it for yeast breads. Oh, and by the way, it does not taste "gluten-free". We had a really merry Christmas at our property!
This flour tastes superb, but does not appear to have the preferred result when made use of by itself. I had high hopes right after reading the reviews and my initially attempt - pie crust - was a flop...the dough would not keep together to even consider about rolling it out...so I patted it into the pan and it tasted excellent - just crumbled. I then attempted it in crepes and added xanthum gum and it seemed much better, but still not awesome. My most beneficial accomplishment with it has been applying 1/two this and 1/two Bob's red mill GF baking flour, along with some xanthum gum. The outcomes are terrific - good taste and texture
